Our Vision

Cumbria Academy for Autism will create life changing opportunities for the Children and Young People between 4 and 19  with  a primary diagnosis of Autism in West Cumbria.

We will provide individualised learning experiences for each of our students.

Whilst working towards nationally recognised qualifications, life skills will form an integral part of all learning, giving our students real life experiences and providing future independence.

We recognise the physical environment is paramount to removing barriers to learning.  Cumbria Academy for Autism will offer an enriched learning environment through a combination of exceptional facilities and the unique outdoor experiences Cumbria has to offer.

Passionate and dedicated Teachers and Support Staff will deliver a bespoke package of education, enabling our students to develop, thrive and reach their full potential.

We will work very closely with families, so that our students receive consistency in all areas of their lives, bridging the gap between home and school.

We have high levels of aspiration for every student both academically and socially.  Forging close links with schools, businesses and local projects will not only promote inclusion of our CYP in society but will also enable their achievements to be recognised and celebrated within their community.

We believe all autistic children, given the right environment, are capable of excellence in all areas of their academic and personal lives, both now and in the future.

Cumbria Academy for Autism will make this possible.
